HSDD-40-33 HOL with HyperLynx via stubs

  • Three transmission line circuits: no stubs, 1 stub and 2 stubs
  • Review the circuits
  • Use rule #9!!
  • Look at both the lossy and the lossles cases
  • Export the S-parameters of each channel. What did you expect and why?
  • Add the terminating resistors and simulate the eye- what do you expect as the difference between the single-ended and the differential cases?
  • What is the highest data rate at which the stub will have little influence? 
  • How high a data rate can you achieve for the losses and lossy cases with and without the via stub?
  • Change a parameter in the system, predict the impact, re-simulate to observe the impact.
